Our enrolment process
Step 1: Explore our campus
We encourage all families considering MCCC to experience our College for themselves by booking a tour. During the tour, you’ll meet a member of our wonderful Enrolments team, who will show you around the tour. You’ll get a sense for the space, the people, and decide for yourself whether this is a place for your family to belong.
Our enrolment process
Step 2: Apply for enrolment
Once you’ve toured, we welcome you to complete an enrolment application. We accept enrolments year-round, as we understand that families may be relocating to the Mid Coast for a variety of reasons.
To apply, fill out our online enrolments form, which takes approximately 20 minutes, provided you have all of the supporting documents on hand, including your child’s birth certificate, immunisation history, reports and relevant documents (eg specialist letters). A non-refundable application fee of $75 will be charged per family.
Our enrolment process
Step 3: Interview with our team
Once your application has been processed, we’ll invite you and your child to an interview with a member of our leadership team and our enrolments manager. At MCCC, we view interviews as an opportunity to get to know your family, and for you to learn more about us. We’ll ask you questions about your expectations and walk you through our approach to educating from a Christian perspective. We’ll discuss any medical, learning or wellbeing needs and you’ll be able to ask us questions to make sure we’re the right fit for your family.
Pre-K and Kindergarten students will participate in a shared activity with our Head of Primary to see where they’re at in their learning — however, this isn’t an assessment for enrolment. Finally, for our Primary and Secondary students, we’ll look through your child’s previous reports and discuss anything that may help us to better support your child as they begin their journey of learning here at MCCC.
Our enrolment process
Step 4: Receive your letter of offer
While many of our year levels have waitlists, we aim to allocate places fairly, with a preference given to students from Christian families, siblings of current students and children of staff. All students who are offered a place will receive their official letter of offer within 24-48 hours of the interview. You will have seven days to determine whether you’d like to proceed with enrolment and accept your offer.
Our enrolment process
Step 5: Organise your start date
The final step in our process is to get you and your child settled into our community and ready for their first day at MCCC. To ensure a smooth transition, we’ll provide you with all the information you need to organise uniforms, purchase your book lists, find your child’s new classroom and meet their new teacher.
We host a special Year 7 Orientation Day in November for new and current students to meet each other and experience life as an MCCC Secondary student. We also offer a transition day for all students to come in and meet our Educational Support Centre team and other current students in a more relaxed environment.
We also offer an orientation afternoon within the last two weeks of school, where all students from Kindergarten to Year 5 spend an afternoon with their new class and teacher for the following year. Students starting Kindergarten will have a three day orientation process. Students attend three and a half days in total, spread over 3 weeks, to participate in class activities, spend time with Kindergarten teachers, and begin the transition to school life.

“I love meeting new families and gaining an understanding of their child. It takes a village to raise a child and we’re part of that village. I want parents to know the teachers here want the best for your child and want them to succeed in life. Parents are entrusting their child with us and I take that very seriously.”
– Kathy McKay, Enrolments Manager

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I enrol my child at MCCC? Is there a cut-off date?
If you would like to enrol your child at MCCC, we recommend applying for enrolment as early as possible. While there is no cut-off date, we prefer to start your child at the beginning of Term so they can settle in comfortably, along with the rest of their cohort.
Am I able to enrol my child mid-way through the school year?
We offer a degree of flexibility and can accept enrolments all year round, as families relocate to the MidCoast for a range of different reasons. If this is the case for your family, please contact us as early as possible so we can work out a suitable arrangement.
Do you have enrolment waitlists? How are places allocated?
Yes, we do. Preferential placement is allocated to students from Christian families, siblings of current students and children of staff. After that, we allocate places according to our ability to cater to your child’s needs.
Can I enrol my child without completing a school tour?
Yes, you can. However, we’d strongly recommend you book a tour before you apply for enrolment to ensure our school is the best fit for your family.
What age can my child begin Kindergarten at MCCC?
We follow government guidelines that stipulate children must be enrolled before they turn six. In NSW, children can start Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn five on or before July 31 that year. We can offer guidance to families on their child’s school readiness.
Who should I contact to find out more about the enrolments process?
Your best point of contact is our Enrolments Manager, Kathy McKay. You can reach her via the form on our Contact page.
Does my family need to be active church members to enrol at MCCC?
We offer a welcoming and inclusive community where faith, care and connection are central to all things. While each member of our staff is a practising Christian, we welcome families from all faith traditions and value the unique gifts and perspectives that each person brings to our school.
