Where imaginations take flight
Kindergarten at MCCC is where children’s imaginations take flight. Through hands-on learning, nurturing guidance, and moments of pure joy, we help each child develop a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
Kindergarten is a special year, full of ‘firsts’ and big dreams. Whether they’re reading their first words, exploring the wonders of creation in Science, or sharing laughter during Book Week dress-ups, Kindergarten students at MCCC are surrounded by a community that celebrates their every milestone.

Firm foundations
We approach learning foundations through fun, focus and accessibility:
- Explicit, engaging literacy – using InitiaLit, a research-backed program, we teach phonics in a clear, systematic way through songs, stories and movement.
- Hands-on numeracy – children explore numbers and early concepts through real-world activities like counting objects or comparing items in nature.
- Responsive teaching – our teachers use their deep knowledge of each student’s needs, personalities and motivations to adapt lessons and adjust support

Whole-child learning
Forming the whole child means nurturing every part of who they are. That’s why faith is part of every lesson, helping students see God’s love made real in everyday moments.
Subjects like Creative Arts, Library, Technology, Koori Culture and Biblical Studies open up new ways of seeing God’s world, making learning more meaningful and joyful.

Parent partnership
“Reflecting on my son’s Kindergarten year, we saw so much growth in him.He went from nervous to confident and really settled in – especially after moving from overseas. He began reading, made friends quickly and always felt included. His teacher created such a calm, supportive classroom. The routines and care made a huge difference, helping him do his best each day. It was such a relief and really confirmed for us that he was thriving here.”
