Kindergarten to Year 4: Technology in Early Learning

In the younger years, we introduce students to the world of technology in a way that is engaging, interactive, and purposeful. Our Kindergarten to Year 4 students use shared iPads for a variety of learning activities. These devices are used for educational programs like (though not limited to) Reading Eggs, Mathletics, and Canva, which help students build foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and creativity.

All classrooms are equipped with smart boards, making technology a seamless part of everyday learning. Students are introduced to key aspects of digital literacy, in line with the NSW Curriculum outcomes, such as digital transcription, file saving, and typing.

Technology plays a key role in preparing our students for the future, ensuring they develop the skills and knowledge required to navigate a digital world confidently.

Years 5 and 6: College Managed Devices

In Years 5 and 6, students are provided with their own Microsoft Surface Go 4 devices, managed and stored by the College. These devices remain at school and are not taken home. This ensures that students have access to the technology they need in a controlled and secure environment.

As students enter these year levels, technology begins to play a larger role in their learning, supporting the development of more advanced skills in subjects such as research, collaboration, and content creation.
